THANK YOU!!
10/25/2011
To Our Fabulous Fellow Marbleheaders:
Thank you for turning out in droves and bidding so graciously
at our Legend Reborn Auction at Abbot Hall this past Saturday
evening to benefit the Warwick Theatre Foundation. Your support
exceeded all of our expectations and we are immensely encouraged
that our community so evidently shares our mission; to bring
a new Warwick Theatre back to Marblehead.
The evening was a blazing success thanks to a long, long list
of community and off “island” donors alike who didn’t
hesitate to generously support our cause by offering items ranging
from signed movie posters, to local good and services, to exciting
experiences. We welcome you and encourage you to peruse the full
donor and advertiser lists below and join us in expressing gratitude
for their participation by frequenting the businesses listed
there.
Our boundless gratitude goes out to all of the people who worked
tirelessly to insure that this, our first official fundraising
event, went as smoothly as possible and was as much fun as we
had hoped. With absolutely zero auction experience, we simply
could not have had the kind of success we did without all of
you.
For the delectable addition of upgraded foodstuffs we are grateful
to new Marbleheaders Patrick & Sherry Quirk. For creating
gastronomic delights that were so popular we couldn’t keep
them on the tables we applaud Chef Barry Edelman Five
Corners Kitchen. For opening your doors and your kitchens to our chef
we salute Chaplain Lyman Rollins and the Marblehead VFW Post
2005. For scrumptious cheese platters we thank the folks at Shubie’s.
For hand crafted and cleverly Warwick-themed butter cookies,
kudos to Cygnet Confections. For a variety of deliciously sweet
whoopie pies and pecan treats, huge hugs to Debi Melnick of Melu.
For sunny floral arrangements that made us smile, thanks to Paulette
at the Flower
House. For our wine tasting gone par-tay, we thank
the endlessly patient Gary Ballard of Classic
Wine Imports. For
top quality and endless print production, huzzahs to Rafe Hershfield/Sir
Speedy.
A standing ovation must go out to our musical entertainment
for the evening, the Dennis James Trio, for presenting academy
award winning accompaniment throughout the Silent Auction.
And, cheers galore to our lovely, smiling and energetic crew
of spotters, ticket takers, table sitters, “Vanna”s & Set-Up/Break
Down folks: Alex Arcuri, Andrea Adamo, Gale Argentine, Sandra
Broughton, Judy Dalton, Jenn & Lily Dolan, Julie Duffy, Reen
Duffy, Michelle Gata, Doug Harris, Todd Huber, Meg Huber, Sasha
Israel, Alyson Katzman, Lisa Kirk, Talia Lipkind, Janet Mack,
Meta Martinez, Christine McClelland, Alec Melnick, Bob Purdy,
Jill Rose, Joy Rotundi, Kathy Sands-Boehmer, Kathy & Peter
Schalck, Abby & Jamie Wheeler, Julia Taliesin, James Zissulus,
and Judie Zissulus.
To Laura, Lang and the National Grand for graciously providing
services and supplies that helped make our check-out process such
a breeze.
To the Selectmen, their office and especially
to Kyle Wiley for being incredibly easy to work with and for
going above and beyond to help us insure our permits and licenses
arrived in time. To Steve Ware for his continued care to insure
Abbot Hall is the grand lady she is and for recognizing and acknowledging
that our goal was to leave her as sparkling as we found her.
To Greg Triplett, Jeff Barry, Jeff Kane and the Marblehead
Arts Festival who gathered their decades of auctioning experience
and shared it wholeheartedly in word and deed - we are humbled
to be the beneficiaries of your organization’s selflessness
to benefit our community.
To our darling auctioneers Henry Dembowski and Tom McNulty,
thank you first for saying yes without a moment’s hesitation,
then for your professionalism, and finally for making our live
auction so much fun.
To our die hard Auction Committee: Gean Bronson-Means, Mark Bronson,
Jeff Kane, Kat Knight, Debi Melnick, and Elaine Purdy we thank
you boundlessly for, not only insuring this event was successful
but more importantly for doing so with grace, consideration and
boundless humor. We are grateful to call you friends.
To our fellow board members Michael McCloskey, Philip Lee,
Brian LeClair, our “movie guy” & GM, Harold
Blank and to our angel, Ted Truscott we are thrilled to work
alongside you on behalf of our Warwick Theatre Foundation and
appreciate the wide open door you offer us through which we
get to create fundraisers that we are proud to see become celebrations.
And, finally and again, to our community we offer a wholehearted
thank you for your support. If you missed the auction and would
still like to support us, check out our donate
page and stay
tuned for our next fantastic fundraising event: The
Warwick Film & Food
Festival January 21st.
With great affection and gratitude,
Beth Wheeler & Kristen Nyberg
